51-53 Canonbie Road, 3rd Planning application submitted

As you may already be aware, a third planning application to demolish the single dwelling at 51-53 Canonbie Road in order to build a block of six flats has been submitted to Lewisham Planning. Local residents, and the Association, have objected to this application. View the full objection letter here. A shortened version of the Association’s objection letter is available below for you to make use of should you wish to do so.

Objection Letter for Residents

As mentioned in previous newsletter articles (when previous applications were submitted), the Association is concerned that should this application be successful then others may do the same.

Full details of the application can be found here:

We would like to encourage as many people as possible to respond to the Lewisham planning department at the below address:

Save Lewisham Hospital

As you may already know, there is a proposal to close the A&E and Maternity services at Lewisham Hospital. This proposal, if agreed, would severely affect the standard and availability of healthcare services available to local residents. Public Consultation on these proposed closures of A&E and Maternity Services at Lewisham Hospital ends at midnight on Thursday 13 December. For information see http://www.savelewishamhospital.com/

Local events happening in December

SEE3, the team responsible for leading the Forest Hill, Sydenham and Kirkdale Portas bid, have put together a calendar covering events taking place in SE23 and SE26 during December.

There’s lots going now, so look out for a copy which should be coming through your mailbox soon. Alternatively, download a copy at http://www.see3.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/SEE3-Christmas-Events-List.pdf

Our new website!

Here is our new website, updated and (we hope!) more useful than ever before.

We hope you like it, and that it contains everything you would expect to find regarding the Residents’ association and the local area.

We welcome your comments on the site, and please let us know if you have any ideas for making it better. And if you happen to be a website professional and can spare an hour or two to help out, do let us know!
