Street Tree Scheme

The Association has started a new initiative to enhance our area by planting more trees on the Estate via a sponsorship scheme that Lewisham Council is running with an independent organisation called Street Trees for Living (STfL) that manages the planting of new trees in the Borough.

TLERA had agreed to fund 50% of the cost of the first six new street trees with the other 50% being raised by residents. However, we are delighted to say that the response from members means that we will be able to fund the planting of ten trees this winter and spring. The final decisions on the selection of species will be made shortly but most, if not all of them, will bring colour to our streets both in Spring and in Autumn.

Summer Picnic Update

The weather was good for the annual summer Picnic in the Triangle. It was an ideal opportunity for members to meet up with friends and neighbours, and get to know new residents over a leisurely lunch, choosing from the mouth-watering array of savoury and sweet dishes members had brought along to share. And, of course, enjoying a glass or two of Pimms! Thanks to all who attended and contributed.

NGS Garden Opening 2017 Report

Once again everything came together for our 2017 National Garden Scheme (NGS) garden opening! The sun shone, and over 500 visitors came to see the six very different gardens, and enjoy delicious homemade cakes while listening to Open Road, our talented musicians who once again gave their services for free.

We are delighted to say that we raised £5360 for cancer and caring charities, slightly more than last year’s record takings. It would not have been possible without all the help from residents and friends who donated plants, loaned equipment, baked cakes, and helped on the day – even driving the less able-bodied visits between the gardens. Our thanks to you all.

Delight in an artist’s studio in an c18th courtyard filled with sculptures and plants and feed the resident robins!

Enjoy an embroidery of a garden with vibrant colours and breathtaking views. Unwind with delicious cakes and listen to music from a talented duo amidst the drifting pastel hues of the tea lady’s garden inspired by Beth Chatto – and Mary Berry!
